Classic Dad Mom Jimmy Preston Evangelist

The first church appointed as Pastor in 1964 starting with 3 members. But grew consistently under his leadership of 4 and half years.  One lasting memory is of one of his best members, who came to a revival at the church. The man sat quietly in the last pew at the back of the church. At the end of his message, Reverend Sibley made an altar call and the man walked forward. He was locally referred to as the "town drunk" but he was married to Larnell Berrian, the pianist and one of the original members.  God saved James Berrian, Sr., changed his life and he became the Deacon of the church. This ministry has grown immensely and is still active today as the Word Of Oasis Church.  For more details click the button.

Appointed Pastor of Eastside Church Of God in Jacksonville, FL during 1969 and 1970. Eastside COG became popular in the neighborhood due to the talented voices of the Herring Sisters: Dorothy, Juanita, Esther, Gwen, and their cousin Bobbie Smith, along with young son lil Sib joining in on the tambourine and their pianist, Robert Ladson, frequently singing at local church functions.

Rev. Wallace Sibley, accepted the appointment as Pastor of Wheeler Street Church Of God And District Overseer, succeeding the retirement of former Pastor, Rev. Raymond Campbell, Sr. in 1974. During his tenure of 4 years, Rev. Sibley oversees the completion of the church's renovation and dining hall. Plus the addition of a Pastor's parsonage and the launching of a bus ministry, while increasing church membership, and planting new Georgia churches in Brunswick, Folkston, Hazelhurst, Jesup, Scuffletown, and Bainbridge. One lasting church-planting memory of Rev. Sibley is trying to recruit a minister to pastor in Bainbridge. He asked some of his licensed ministers to accept the position. Each refused. One newly saved member called to the ministry, Joe Williams was willing to accept the appointment. Some of the licensed ministers scoffed and joked saying Joe was too dumb and inexperienced. Rev. Sibley ignored the ridicule and sent Joe and his wife Ernestine to Bainbridge to run a revival.  After two weeks, Rev. Sibley received a call from Joe needing his help in taking 30 new members into the Bainbridge Church of God because he wasn't authorized without a minister's license. To God Be The Glory! Rev. Sibley became pastor of Daytona Beach Church Of God after the conclusion of his appointment as FL Cocoa Office State Overseer in 1986.  During his one year as pastor, he added 100 new members to the church and completed the dining hall renovation. Local residents and students of the historical HBCU, Bethune Cookman University, including the college's president, were frequent attendees. One year later, in 1988,  Rev. Wallace Sibley was asked to accept the appointment as Pastor of Steele & Blue Street Church Of God in Jacksonville, FL. He had mixed emotions because of the excitement and rapid growth of Daytona Beach. Historically, Jacksonville was the largest church building in the FL. Cocoa Church Of God Office. And the previous state office. It was the home church of his wife, Dorothy's family, and where they were married. Rev. Sibley served as Pastor for 9 years, taking in over 700 members, completing the new building project which had been stagnated for over a year due to lack of funds. He moved the congregation to its new church, Sanctuary Of Praise.
